2nd Annual Symposium of CEM3DIPSI

2nd Annual Symposium on Single particle CryoEM and Cellular Tomography, 18 Dec 2021, was held over google meet. IISER-TVM hosted this annual symposium. Professor S Murty Srinivasula (Professor In-Charge Administration, IISER-TVM) inaugurated this annual festival of science. We had five brilliant single particle cryoEM speakers Somnath Dutta, Gayathri Pananghat, Saikat Chowdhury, Indrajit Lahiri, Moumita Dutta and a cryoEM image processing methods developer Kedar B Khare as speaker. We were honoured to have Professors Rajan Sankaranarayanan, Shekhar C. Mande and Deepak T. Nair who chaired and enthusiastically participated in the sessions. The CEM3DIP Society of India honoured Professors Krishanu Ray on 18th Dec 2021 with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Professor Shekhar C Mande handed over the Certificate to Professors Krishanu Ray. Prof. Krishanu Ray is currently Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. He is being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award of CEM3DIP society of India for his contribution towards understanding the role of motor proteins in tissue differentiation and organism development using fluorescence and electron microscopy methods.

1st Annual Symposium on Single particle CryoEM and Cellular Tomography, 19 Dec 2020, was held over google meet. Professor J.N. Moorthy (Director IISER-TVM) inaugurated this wonderful festival of science. We had six brilliant single particle cryoEM speakers Appu Singh, Sai Krishnan, Ruchi Anand, Sandip Kaledhokar, Janesh Kumar and Radha Chauhan. We were honoured to have Professors Dinakar Salunke, M.R.N. Murthy and T.P. Singh who chaired and enthusiastically participated in the sessions. The CEM3DIP Society of India honoured Professors AN Ghosh and Atanu Basu on 19th Dec 2020 with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Professor TP Singh handed over the Certificate to Professors AN Ghosh and Atanu Basu. Dr. Ghosh is currently an ICMR Emeritus Professor at the National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED), Kolkata. He is being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award of CEM3DIP society for his contribution towards structural characterization of bacteriophages and viral proteins using electron microscopy and reconstruction methods. Dr. Basu is currently the Deputy Director & Head, Electron Microscopy and Pathology Group, at the National Institute of Virolgy (NIV), Pune. He is being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award of CEM3DIP society for his contribution towards structural characterization of emerging and novel viral pathogens.
